- [Instructor] In this video we'll learn about the differences between VMFS and NFS storage. And we'll compare the two storage technologies. So let's go with a simple example for VMFS. Let's say that we're deploying an iSCSI storage array. Now iSCSI is just one of the possible options that we can choose from. Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, local disks, those are all going to be VMFS datastores for our ESXi hosts. So let's start by just moving away from the ESXi host and getting rid of those parts of this diagram and just focusing on the iSCSI storage array. And so here's our iSCSI storage array. We've got Ethernet switches. That's the network that our ESXi host is going to use to communicate with the iSCSI storage array. So we're always connecting to an iSCSI storage array using an Ethernet network. And then on the storage device itself we've got a couple of storage processors here. So the storage processors…
