From the course: vSphere 6.7 Professional Part 02: Managing Storage

Managing storage with vSphere

- Welcome to part two of my vSphere 6.7 professional course. In our prior section, we focused on networking. And in this section, we're going to focus on storage. Now, I want to recommend a couple of great, free, hands-on labs that VMware provides for us that will help to reinforce what you learn in this section. And the first lab that I want to take a look at is HOL-1910-01. Now, if you did the networking section of this course, you may have already completed part of this lab. There's also a third module to this lab, Introduction to vSphere Storage. So, that's a good way to get started with some basics of vSphere storage. And then, HOL-1911-03 covers some of the advanced storage features within vSphere. So, that's another good lab to take a look at as well. And all of the labs that we've looked at so far have been in this Software Defined Data Center section. Now, we may want to take a look st some of the labs under Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. Because you'll notice in there, there are some labs related to vSAN, specifically HOL-1908-01. That's a great lab to learn the basics of vSAN and get your hands dirty and learn a little bit about vSAN from a practical management perspective. And then, HOL-1927-01, which covers virtual volumes and storage policies. I would suggest doing both of those labs. And just as a reminder, these great, free, hands-on labs are available at hol.vmware.com. Now as a reminder, if you're a vSphere beginner, the great way to get started and learn the basics is the vSphere 6.5 Essential's training that's available already. You may want to check that out if this training seems too advanced. Now finally, I want to encourage you to connect with me on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a great way to stay in contact with me and learn about new courses that I might be releasing. So, up on the screen, you can see my LinkedIn address.
