Demo: vSAN maintenance, part 2

- Now what happens if I need to do maintenance? Let's say I need to put host esxiO2 into maintenance mode. I got to right click esxi02. I'm going to choose maintenance mode. I'm going to hit enter maintenance mode. And look at what it's telling me. This host has data on it. It's in a vSAN cluster. It contains virtual machine data. I know that it has one of the replica dikcs for demo. So how do I want to handle maintenance mode? Do I want to take that replica that exists on esxi02 and move it somewhere else so that even though this host is in maintenance mode, all of my components are still there. My virtual machine doesn't lose redundancy. There is absolutely zero data. It's kind of been taken out of the loop while this thing is in maintenance mode. And this is obviously the optimal way to put a host in maintenance mode but it's going to take a while. All of the data that's stored on those disc groups, on esxi02 is going to have to get migrated before this host can enter maintenance…
