- [Rick] In this video I'll demonstrate how to configure alarms using the vSphere Client and how to set up notifications in vCenter. And I'll be demonstrating all of these tasks using the free labs that are available at hol.vmware.com. So here I am in the vSphere Client and I'm going to simply scroll up here and I'm going to click on my vCenter Server instance and on the vCenter Server instance itself I'll go to configure and we have some general settings here for vCenter including the mail server and the mail sender and we've also got SNMP receivers as well. So I'm going to click on edit here so that I can modify the settings and under mail here's where I would configure my on premises email server along with a mail sender. So that's going to be the email address sending these messages so for example my email server could be something like smtp.trainertests.com and the mail sender could be the email account that I want to utilize to…
