- [Rick] In this video, I'll show you how to use templates to create multiple copies of a virtual machine and basically how to establish a base image that you can perfect, and then use that base image to deploy many virtual machines with all of your ideal settings in your operating system. So let's start at the VMs and templates view. And notice, we've got this virtual machine here called Rick WinServer2016. So let's just pretend that this is my ideal virtual machine. I've got all my Windows updates on it. I've configured all of the operating system settings exactly as they should be. And now I need to deploy more virtual machines and I don't want to redo all of that work. What I can do is right-click this virtual machine and I can either convert it to a template or I can clone it to a template. So if I choose to clone this virtual machine to a template, let's give the template a name. I'm just going to call it Server2016…
