- [Rick] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to create a vSphere standard virtual switch. So here, you can see I'm using the lab environment at hol.vmware.com once again. And I'm going to go to hosts and clusters here. And what you're doing when you create a vSphere standard switch is you're creating a virtual switch that is local to one particular ESXi host. So for example, if I create a virtual switch on ESXi 01, I can't see that virtual switch on ESXi 02. I can't connect virtual machines to that virtual switch. If those VMs are running on a different ESXi host. A vSphere standard switch is local to one particular ESXi host. So I've clicked on ESXi 01A here and I'm going to go to configure. And on the networking, I'm going to go to virtual switches. And you can see here in this lab environment, this host is already connected to one virtual switch.
