- [Instructor] So far we've worked with progressive footage,…image sequences with whole frames.…There's no interlacing.…What happens though if you work with…footage with interlacing.…For example, you want to work with a QuickTime movie.…Well you can deal with that as long as you…interpret the footage correctly.…Let's give it a try.…Want to make a new project,…choose, and there's an interlaced QuickTime movie file…called interlaced dot mp4.…And this is in the Chapter 3 folder in footage.…I'll select that.…I can work with the QuickTime.…
And the first thing I want to check is the frame rate.…And see here is 59.994, and it is essentially…a 30 frames per second piece of footage…that has interlacing.…If you see an odd number like this, 59.994…or 29. 997 it's usually an indication…that there's interlacing.…Now in order to interpret that correctly,…I need to make sure I separate the fields,…and this is off by default.…I can either choose to separate the upper field first…or lower field first.…Now with NTSC, which I'm using now,…
