Finding a good planar pattern to track

- We're now ready to motion track. I have a new project, and a new clip. The playback's set to loop. Let's take a look. So here we have a robot, walking through this parking deck, carrying a box. So let's say we wanted to add a new element to the box. Perhaps a sticker up here. We'd have to motion track. But transform tracking, or matched moving, where you have tracking in the X and Y direction will be difficult here. (mouse clicking) If I zoom in, you can see there's very little detail in that area of the box. Not many good patterns to track. Well, here's where planar tracking works quite well. As long as you can find a pattern in that area, that's within the same plane, they'll work quite well. For example, you can include the edges of the box, this piece of tape, and even the fingers of the robot. Let's draw a shape to establish that pattern.
