Join James Williamson for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the exercise files, part of CSS: Advanced Typographic Techniques.
If you're a Premium member of the Lynda.com, online training library, you have access to the exercise files used throughout this course. For this course, each chapter is an individual project. However, I've created each exercise file, to be self contained. That means, you're going to want to make sure you're working with the proper exercise file based on the movie your watching. Now i recommend coping the entire exercise file directly to the desk top. And then working on the files directly from the appropriate folder. Am going to call out the locations of the file for each movie and you should see a brief over lay they will also tell you where you can find those files.
For this course it doesn't matter which Code Editor you use or which everyone is your favourite. Now am going to be using brackets for this course since it;s free, it's cross formed and is extremely light weight. Then am going to be solely on the code that am going to be working with. Now I also recommend installing the most recent versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Fire Fox, Safari and Opera and testing with those browsers.
Now many of CSS properties that were going to be working with in this course are relatively new and some are Web Kit focused, so I'm going to be testing a lot in Chrome. But we'll discuss cross browser capabilities and how to create fallbacks. So, testing with multiple browsers is always encouraged.
