Downloading Modernizr
Before we can begin using Modernizr we, of course, first need to download it. So, let's take a quick look at what Modernizr is, and how we can download it by starting on Modernizr's home page right here at modernizr.com. It's spelled a little weird, it's the word modern plus izr.com. Okay. So what is Modernizr? Well, Modernizr is what they call a feature detection library. What that means is it's a JavaScript library that allows you to detect whether a browser or user agent supports certain HTML 5, or CSS 3 features, or a host of other features. And this is going to help you create cross browser compliant websites and applications, by allowing you to target one set of styles, or one set of code for a browser that supports a feature. And then giving it another set of styles when a feature is not supported. So it's incredibly helpful and useful in that regard. Okay.
