Join David Rivers for an in-depth discussion in this video Using Instant Alpha, part of Numbers 3 Essential Training.
I really like this next tool…that's available to you in Numbers…that will allow you to remove portions of an image…like removing the background of our office tower here…in our Kinet Eco Budget file.…It's called Instant Alpha.…We're going to take a look at it now.…If you need to get caught up,…open up KEcoBudget 0806.…We're zoomed in to 150% so we can get a good look…at our office tower.…We are going to select it by clicking once,…and go over to the image tab here in our inspector,…and click Instant Alpha.…
And what this does is allows us to…click a color to make it transparent,…but we can also drag it to include similar colors.…For example, our blue background here…is not the same shade of blue throughout.…It's a blue sky.…There are slight variances in the shade.…So instead of just clicking once…to remove part of the background,…we can click and drag,…and you can see what's happening.…It's finding various shades of blue to be removed…and then when we release…you can see the entire blue background has been removed,…
