RSS feeds are a great way to get content into iTunes U. Sean shows you how to place a link for an RSS feed into your course, and what happens to the content after you associate the url with the course.
- [Narrator] Something I have not showed you how to do…is add an RSS feed from an outside data source…into your course.…This is super-important because there are…plenty of resources out there…where they update with new information all the time…and you would want to have those updated resources…in your Materials area.…So, no problem!…You start off in your course area under Materials…and you click the plus button over here and…pull down to iTunes or Web Link.…I happen to have an RSS feed URL right here in my clipboard.…
So I've just pasted something that starts with feed://…and goes all the way down to downloads.rss…and this happens to be something from the BBC.…I click Enter Link…and iTunes U goes out and checks the link.…As soon as it notices that it's an RSS feed…it asks me to subscribe to that feed.…I click Subscribe…Add and Subscribe…and as soon as I do the sidebar over here changes,…I get this area over here that says Feed Materials…and I start to see things coming in.…
I've got 20 things coming…and it will all download over time.…
