- Hey everybody, Sean Duggan here, and in this episode of Mobile Photography Weekly, we're going to focus on the black and white image. We're going to take a look at ways that you can make better monochrome images with your camera phone. We're going to be taking a look at the photography part and considering what types of subjects work well for black and white photography, as well as the post-capture processing part. When you look at photo and distill it down to the bare essentials, it's a collection of different brightness and color values that make up the scene that you photographed. You can adjust an image by modifying the brightness, making it look lighter, or darker, as well as changing contrast, which is the difference between the lightest and the darkest tones. You can apply these adjustments to the overall image and depending on the apps that you use, to specific areas of the scene as well.
