Exploring add-on lenses

- The lenses on current cameraphones are limited in terms of the range of view that they can present to you, and by that I mean that you don't have a true, optical zoom lens capability in a camera phone like you might have on a larger camera. And by optical zoom lens, I mean a lens where the lens elements are actually moving and changing position in order to give you a different focal length, a different angle of view, whether that's wide-angle or telephoto or macro or something like that. Fortunately, there are a range of auxiliary lenses you can purchase to add on new lens capabilities to your camera. Now before we get into talking about these, I wanted to clarify something about optical versus digital zoom because of course, on most camera apps and cameraphones, there is the capability to zoom in on a scene simply by using a two-finger gesture like that, spreading your thumb and forefinger apart, or sometimes as a slider that pops up when you do that.
