- So when it comes to recording video, your audio is just as important. One of my favorite teachers when it comes to audio is Walter Murch. He was the feature film editor for Francis Ford Coppola for a number of years and before that he was an audio engineer. And he sunk into my head that importance of how people actually react in some cases more to audio than it is to video. And I've actually witnessed people talk about video and not like it because the audio was off. So what you need to know about your iPhone is that it does record audio but it doesn't record audio that well. That's why I highly recommend that you spend a little bit of money to get some external audio devices. One great one is just a simple Lavalier. As you can see here this is plugging into my iPhone 6 through the actual head port jack and using a internal application on the iPhone for voice, we're able to record the sound from the Lavalier and it's going to sound way better than the internal recording of the…
