- [Instructor] My name is Jess Stratton and welcome to Monday Productivity Pointers. This week, I'm going to show Mac owners how you can take text from a webpage like this one and save it to your desktop very easily to work with it later. Instead of having to select text, paste it into a Word document, save the Word document, and remember where you put it, you can just drag the text right to your desktop. I'll start by clicking and dragging with my mouse to select the block of text that I want to save. From here, hold the mouse down and drag it to the desktop. I'll let go and here's my web clip. I'll minimize this so we can see it a little bit better. To preview it, select it and tap the spacebar. Here's all the text. And you'll notice that it's retained the formatting. The boldface items are boldface and the text is there. This also works for other formatted text such as bullets. From here, I can work with this by clicking the arrow on the top right hand side.
