Get a quick look at the two highly anticipated features in the iOS 8.1 update: Apple Pay, which gives iOS users a new way to make purchases, and Instant Hotspot, for one-click Internet sharing with an iPhone.
- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Nick Brazzi. Thanks for joining me for a quick look at a few new features that were added in iOS 8.1. There are two big features that we're gonna be focusing on here. We'll start with Apple Pay, which is Apple's new mobile payment system. With Apple Pay, you can store your credit card information in your iPhone or iPad, which you can use to make purchases in stores or online using apps. The Instant Hotspot feature is the other big topic that we'll be covering. With OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.1, using personal hotspots is much easier because the Instant Hotspot feature allows you to activate and connect to your phone's hotspot in a single click.
We'll look at what you'll need to get that all set up and running. There are just a few topics to cover here, so I hope you'll join me as I dive in to what has been added in the iOS 8.1 update: Apple Pay and Instant Hotspot.
Note: Apple Pay works only with late-model iOS devices, including the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and the Apple Watch.
