Join Laurie Burruss for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the iPad in the classroom, part of iPad Classroom: The Basics.
Before we can take advantage of the iPad as a classroom tool, we need to make sure that we have the infrastructure to support it. Based upon my research, and observation of how other teachers are using the iPad in the classroom, I'll give you an overview of best practices and strategies. These include developing a school plan and proposal for the iPad classroom. Deciding upon a delivery system, whether it's individual, a classroom, or schoolwide solution. Determining who owns, operates and is responsible for the apps and iTunes accounts.
Evaluating the different types of projection systems available for displaying the iPad screen. Selecting apps that integrate with the school's core mission. Teaching styles, and student learning styles. Determining who's responsible for supporting training and professional development, for acces to checking in and out the iPad classroom. And the iTeam management and the configuration of an iPad classroom set. We can use the iPad in the classroom for video, image editing, audio, eReading, journaling, blogging, sharing, annotating.
Researching, screen casting, presenting, story telling, studying, organizing, collaborating, and more.
