- [Instructor] The App Switcher in iOS 13 is the feature that allows you to quickly switch back and forth among multiple applications. To bring up the App Switcher on an iPhone X and later or on iPads, swipe up from the bottom of the screen until you see these thumbnails appear. On older iPhones and iPads, double-click the Home button. So this shows you all the apps you've been using in order of most recently used from right to left and you can swipe along them to find the app you want to switch to. Tap any app's preview to bring it to the foreground and start using it. One of the nice things about this App Switching view is that the thumbnails show you the apps in the last state you left them in. This gives you the ability to see information in the app without actually bringing it to the front.
