- [Narrator] Before Touch ID and Face ID we had to type in a passcode to unlock our devices. To avoid that inconvenience many users didn't set a passcode at all. Therefore those devices were unprotected. With the fingerprint technology card Touch ID Apple introduced the fast and easy way to protect the user data. The sensor sends the fingerprint data directly to the secure enclave. The secure enclave process and encrypts the biometric data that's kept securely and never exposed to external hardware or software. Securing your iPhone has never been easier. The Touch ID API is public and app developers can use it to secure their apps easily. With Touch ID we can unlock our IOS devices with the simple touch of a finger. Face ID provides an even more intuitive way to access the iPhone X quickly. The camera detects the direction of our gaze and analyzes the geometry of our face.
