- [Instructor] The Safari web browser in iOS 13 works like most other web browsers, but it has a ton of useful features for customizing how webpages are displayed and managed I'll tap this icon to open Safari. Now, when you open it, you'll most likely see the last page you were browsing. I just have a blank page here, and I see these icons which are my saved favorites. More on those in a little bit. But you can tap in the address field to add the address of the site you want to visit, or you can perform a Google search. I'll search for the LinkedIn Learning blog, and I'll find it here in the results. I'll just tap this first article so we have something to look at. Now, new to Safari and iOS 13, you can tap this AA button here in the address bar to quickly access useful settings and features. For example, you can quickly enter Reader View, which displays just the text from the page, making it easier to read the content. If I tap that button again, you can see I have other options to have a different background to make that easier on the eyes. And we can choose different fonts. I'm just going to choose Hide Reader View for now. You can also adjust the size of the text from here if you're having trouble reading it at its default size. And there's also the option to request the desktop version of the website you're viewing. Some sites detect when you're visiting them on a mobile device like an iPhone and serve up an optimized and sometimes less useful version of the webpage. So in many cases, you can request the desktop version of a site from here to see the page the way it would look on a computer browser. Now, if you're on an iPad, you don't have to worry about that because in iOS 13 or iPadOS, Safari identifies itself to websites as the Mac version of Safari. So you'll always get the desktop version of a site on an iPad. But just remember that this menu is here and easily accessible when you're browsing in Safari.
