Portrait and Portrait Lighting mode

- [Instructor] If you have an iPhone with a multi-camera system, you can take advantage of portrait mode to artificially create a shallow depth of field effect. Starting with the iPhone XR, portrait mode even works on some iPhone models that only have one lens. On the iPhone 8 Plus and later, there are also portrait lighting effects that work in portrait mode, both while you're shooting, and as an option later when you're editing your portrait shots. And on semi phones, you can take advantage of portrait mode and portrait mode lighting for your selfies with a front facing true depth camera. In portrait mode, the camera uses the multiple lenses to differentiate the depth or distance between the subject and the background. It uses this information to create a depth map and apply computational blurring in live real time, creating a shot where the subject in the foreground is in focus, and the background is blurred.
