- [Garrick] We've seen that you can use Siri to listen to text messages and emails, and that you can dictate replies to Siri as well. But the truth is that you can use voice dictation to compose text in just about any app in which the on-screen keyboard appears. Technically, this isn't a Siri command, it's just considered voice dictation, but you are using the same basic functionality. And although you can use it without an internet connection, it does seem to work best when your device is online. Generally, any time you're using an app that has a keyboard, you should see this microphone button in the lower right-hand corner. Tapping it will change the keyboard into a dictation display, and you can start dictating your message right away. Now if you don't see the microphone button, go to Settings, to General, Keyboard, and down here at the bottom, make sure Enable Dictation is switched on. Now a very important concept to…
