- [Illustrator] Unlike professional videographers, casual shooters like myself, probably don't use a tripod as much as we should, especially when we're shooting video with our phones. And it's pretty common to be in editing situations where you want to use a specific clip in your movie, but the footage is just too shaky from being shot on a handheld camera or out a car window, or for any number of reasons. iMovie's stabilization capability can potentially make previously unusable footage usable, and it's really easy to do. For this example, let's use this footage of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy sign I imported earlier. If you recall, this is actually playing in reverse because I wanted the shot to zoom out instead of zooming in. So here's what it looks like right now. So it's a little shaky.
