- [Instructor] In addition to letting you adjust and add prerecorded audio files, iMovie gives you the ability to record your own voice-over narration to your movies live while watching the movie. This is a great feature if you're the type of person that likes to do a lot of explaining when people are watching your videos. Now you can also record your own voice-over in a separate program, but the advantage of recording directly into iMovie is that you can watch your video as you speak so you can time what you're saying to what's happening on screen. You can use your Mac's built in microphone, if it has one, or you can pick up an inexpensive USB microphone from any computer or office supply store. To record into iMovie, you click this microphone button here under the viewer, which opens up the recording controls.
