Create videos people actually want to watch

- [Garrick] These days we always have a video camera with us in the form of our smartphones. We can quickly capture vacation footage, video from parties, hiking trips, or any other activity we're participating in or observing. But that doesn't mean our friends and family want to sit through all of that video when we share it. iMovie lets you take all that raw footage and edit it down into a shorter and much more interesting collection of all the best footage from an event that's much more likely to be watched and enjoyed by your friends. Hi, I'm Garrick Chow and I'm looking forward to taking you through this course on iMovie, where we'll see how to import video footage and organize it into events from which you'll be able to assemble your projects into a concise, effective story. We'll explore how to make your videos look their best by performing color correction and adding video effects. And from there, we'll take a look at more sophisticated types of edits, like how to create cutaways or picture-in-picture effects. We'll see how to affect the mood and tone of a project with sound effects and music. And once the project's done and you're ready to share it with the world, I'll walk you through the options for exporting your project from iMovie. We'll be covering all these features plus plenty of other tools and techniques for making your videos the best they can be in iMovie. Let's get started.
