Occasionally, you might want to create a still image just so you can draw attention to a particular moment or scene from your footage. It’s possible to create still frames from clips in iMovie, but it’s a bit of a roundabout process. This video shows you how to grab a still frame from video clips, how to adjust its on-screen duration, and how to apply the Ken Burns effect.
- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at how to create…a still image from a frame from one of your clips in iMovie.…Occasionally you might want to create a still image…just so you can draw attention to a particular moment…or scene from your footage.…Now I'm just going to continue working with the same project…we started building in the previous chapter here.…So first, you want to identify the frame…you want to turn into a still frame.…This can only be done with clips that are…in the project timeline and not in the event browser.…If you need to grab a still from a clip…that's not in your timeline,…first place the clip in the timeline.…After you've grabbed the still frame,…you can always then edit the clip…so that only the freeze frame portion is used,…if that's what you want.…
So for example, here in my timeline,…we have this shot of me leaping over a log,…and maybe I want to freeze this moment at the height,…as it were, of my leap,…maybe right about there.…So I'm going to click to place the playhead there,…then I'm going to right click and choose Add Freeze Frame.…
