Using Bookmarks

- Bookmarks are custom reference points to locations in our book that do not fit in the book's normal structural categories of figures, chapters, sections, or pages. They provide us with the flexibility to directly access any specific point in our book that we choose. If you're following along, I'm on page 13 of our book. You create a bookmark by selecting some text or an object and then in the Link Inspector, go to the Bookmarks tab and at the bottom, click the plus button. The bookmark is automatically created and the current page number is listed. As you're writing your book, you can add bookmarks along the way, and then if you insert additional pages, iBooks Author will keep track of what the correct page number is for you. When you create a bookmark, it's instantly available to you while you're developing your book as a kind of quick links menu.
