Creating deep links into your iBook

- In this movie, we're going to roll up our sleeves and customize an HTML widget to help our readers navigate our book. Throughout this chapter, we've explored the various types of links we can create internally such as bookmarks, figures, chapters, sections, and pages. We've accessed all of these links through the Inspector. But for widgets that are created outside of iBooks Author, we have to manually create our own links. We create these deep links with custom HTML tags. The general format for these tags is ibooks://# the link_type, and then in parentheses, the content_number. We substitute the link_type for all of the types you're already familiar with, such as chapter, page, figure, review. These are all one word and all lower case. For the content number, we enter a number value to indicate the chapter and item number for that type in that chapter. So to create a deep link to chapter two, we would enter ibooks://#chapter(2).
