Join Mike Rankin for an in-depth discussion in this video Archiving project assets, part of iBooks Author for Teachers: The Basics.
One of the great things about an iBooks Author file is that it's self-contained.…Everything you place into it is embedded, so you don't have to worry about…maintaining links to your images, media files, and so on.…But if you ever lose access to your iBooks Author file, you could lose…everything you put into it too.…So it would be very helpful to have a back up set of your assets in a separate…folder. Let's see how to do that.…Here's my project, and what I want to do is gather up all the assets, all the…images and media files that I used into one folder, so that if I had to, I could…recreate this project from scratch. Or I could create a new variation on it, or…use any of my assets in other projects.…
One way you could do this is to go page by page, select each image and media…file, and check the Metrics inspector.…I'll go to my Title page, select the image, and I can see in the Metrics…inspector, the image right here, cover.jpg. And I can actually drag this file…name to the Finder to make a new copy of that image.…
