Getting help from Internet web sites can be a daunting task for some people. There is often a reason it's hard to reach companies, because providing customers support costs money, and most companies try and keep that information well hidden to avoid contact by phone. eBay and PayPal do offer several methods of support, and you will want to discover the best ways to get the help that you need, when you need it. For eBay, be sure you're signed in to the web site. Some resources are only available when you're actually signed in to the site. On the homepage, click on the Contact us link.
If you're having a concern about a particular topic, then you can that topic into the Ask box. eBay usually won't display a way to contact them until you've taken a moment to identify the topic for which you need help. If you get stuck and don't quite know what to say in the Ask box, then you can click on the See more topics link right here. I'm going to select item under the Bidding & buying section right here, and then I'm going to select Can I return an item? You'll notice that over here on the right-hand side that eBay presents an option to chat with their customer support team.
Just so you know, eBay's support telephone number is 866-322-9105, just in case you want to cut to the chase and just call them. eBay support is available 24 hours a day, any day of the week, all year long. Don't expect a miracle when you call. eBay is generally there to answer your most common technical questions, but in terms of strategy and buying theory, their agents are more likely to be able to help you with the most general of questions, and those that are more technically oriented. If you run into any trouble on eBay, or you have issues with a transaction, that's also why eBay's support is there.
You can call or you can chat online with an agent and get the resolution that you need. For help with PayPal, go to the PayPal web site. You would click on the Help link right here. As with eBay, PayPal offers a myriad of self-help links to help answer the most common questions. If you want to try her out, Sarah is an automated help assistant right here. She can also assist you as well, and you can type a question in the chat box with Sarah such as, "How do I pay for an eBay auction?" Sarah will then give you the most common answer for the question that you've presented to her.
So these handy answers are great, but I do like to actually talk to a real person. And even though PayPal will make a concerted effort to get you self-help, you can also speak to an agent or you can e-mail them. So the way you would do that is you would scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Contact us link right here. You will notice that PayPal makes a concerted effort to provide you with all the resources to answer your questions, but you can contact them directly either by calling them or e-mailing them. I'm going to go ahead and click on the Email Us option.
You'll need to sign in, and then you'll need to choose a topic to summarize your concern. So in this case, I'm going to go ahead and ask a question about sending and receiving money and making an auction payment. Then I'm going to put a real quick summary here to summarize why I am contacting PayPal. PayPal will then present you with some suggested topics that might be able to help you, right here in the help system. Or you can e-mail them directly by selecting these choices right here.
They'll ask you which web site you are using. In this case, I'm using eBay. Then they ask you for some optional questions here as well, plus the summary of the question that you put in earlier. Then you can e-mail PayPal's customer support team by typing in your question here. Then you click Continue. Then someone from PayPal will contact you by e-mail within the period of time specified on their web site. If you'd rather talk to someone on the telephone, you can go back to the Help, Contact us page, and you can use the Call option.
So if I go back to Help, then I go to Contact us, then I can click Call Us, then I can click Call PayPal Customer Service. The telephone number will be presented to you right here on this page, along with the call-in pin that you use when you're making the phone call. We're just covering the most basic ways to get support for eBay and PayPal in this movie. But there are lots of help and support resources that you'll discover as you use these sites more frequently.
