The importance of planning
- [Instructor] Here are some key questions to ask yourself when designing an infographic. Who is the audience? Are they academic or informal? Young or old? What are their interests? What is the purpose of the infographic? Is it to retain the audience attention while they are reading an article? Or, establish your expertise in a field? Or, to sell a product? Or, to lobby for positive change? Or, is it to increase brand awareness? Define the medium. Is it a print graphic at a fixed size or is it for the web, where it can be continuously scrolling? Start out with a sketch and then make yourself a wireframe that blocks out the areas of your page or screen with the different sections of the infographic.
