Join Eric Wing for an in-depth discussion in this video Working with text, part of Revit 2018: Essential Training for MEP (Imperial).
- [Voiceover] Let's talk about text.…I'll be the first to lie to someone…and state that there's no such thing…as regular text in Revit.…There is a text editor and you're actually…gonna use it quite a bit.…This video is gonna go through the basics…of adding text to a model and to a drafting view.…So, let's just get started.…To begin, let's go to HVAC, Floor Plan one,…Mach Demolition.…I'm gonna zoom in on this area here…where we have some demo items…and we have existing to remain.…Let's go ahead and add some text.…We can't just tag what we wanna say right here.…
So, we need some descriptive words.…On the Quick Access toolbar,…click the text button right here…or you can type tx for text.…In the properties, let's click the text dropdown…and let's go to 3.32" Arial.…On the format panel, let's click the two segments button.…I'm gonna pick a point right here,…then right here, then right here,…and I'm gonna type in the word,…all caps, DISCONNECT.…Then I'm gonna click off of it.…
Let's hit Escape a couple times.…Now, that's the ugliest arrow I've ever seen in my life.…
