What you need to know

- In this course, I'll jump right into identifying and discussing the types of risk that we face as construction management professionals, and I'll discuss the different ways we can identify, assess, and manage these risks. Whether you manage an entire project, a single component of a project, or you manage a trade performing work on a project, if you're a management professional in the construction industry, you manage risk. To be successful, it's important that you understand what that means and what role that you play in the process. There are many aspects to being a successful construction manager. If you're new to the industry and you feel like you might benefit from some additional discussion on the overall roles and responsibilities of a construction manager, you might want to jump over and watch my course called Construction Management Foundations here in the online library. And, as you continue your professional development, there are several other courses here to help you learn about planning and scheduling, estimating, safety, project delivery methods, and many more. I've learned a great deal in my many years in the construction industry. I've had successes and I've had failures. In this course, I'll share a little bit of both with you to help you become a better construction management professional.
