Using design tables - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS 2019 Essential Training
Using design tables
- [Instructor] SolidWorks gives us the ability to have Microsoft Excel drive the dimensions inside of a part and we call that a Design Table. So to get started with a design table the first thing I need to do is come up here and insert a design table into my part. So come to Insert, come down here to Tables, and go over here to Design Table, click there. Now we can go ahead and just use the auto-create function which works just fine. Click on OK and right away SolidWorks is going to open up Excel and, as you can see, the top of my screen is now actually Microsoft Excel, it's not SolidWorks. We are in the Microsoft environment now so now it's giving me an option of what of these dimension would I like to bring into this table. You can bring them all in or you can just choose one of them. You can see here, D1@Sketch 1, D2@Sketch 2, they're not very descriptive, right. We don't really know what's going on here. Same thing with D1 at Boss-extrude one. That's pretty much how far we've…
