Using the Rectangle tool
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be taking a look at ways of creating rectangles. Now, a basic rectangle is really just four regular lines with some relationships automatically added in. And I can go ahead and create a rectangle by using the Line command if I'd like to, but SolidWorks does a lot of the work for us using this Rectangle command. Now, notice I have several different ways to create a rectangle. One I have is the Corner Rectangle, one is the Midpoint Corner Rectangle, I've got a 3 Point Corner Rectangle and I even have a Parallelogram. So a whole bunch of different options. The first one is the Corner Rectangle, very straightforward and simple. Click where you want to start one corner and click again where you want to stop that other corner. Notice that it defines this using four regular lines and four relationships of this line here. It's vertical, vertical, horizontal, and horizontal. And that is how SolidWorks creates that shape.
