Using the Convert Entities tool

- [Instructor] The convert entities tool allows me to bring in edges or faces from another part or another shape inside of Solidworks and bring it into my current sketch. Now in this case here, I've got this plane number one. I'm going to go ahead and start a sketch on that plane. Now, I don't want to create any geometry myself, I want to import it from some other shapes. So over here, if I click on this top surface right here, I can click on and say convert entities. As soon as I do that, notice it brings all those exterior lines and brings it directly into the sketch that I'm working on right now. Now if I click back on that convert entities tool I can also choose this little box in here called inner loops one by one. If I click on that one there, I can then choose these inner edges and bring those directly into my sketch as well. So I have the ability to pretty much create the same exact shape down here very easily. Now I can go over here to something like a feature, do an extrude…
