Ties

- You can increase the length of a note by using a tie to connect it to another note. When two notes are tied, the second one is not played separately. Instead, the value of the second note is added to the first. For instance, a half note tied to a quarter note would last three beats, since a half note gets two beats and a quarter note gets one.
