I would recommend this to anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of music theory, but specifically those who already have at least a grasp of musical ideas such as how chords are constructed and useful to create and/or play songs. If you have no musical background this may be very difficult. but I still wouldn't discourage anyone from digging in. This is sort of a deep dive crash course with a LOT of info laid out. I paused a lot to play the diatonic structures and scales and modes he was teaching. I like the learn-at-your-own-pace structure.

Course details
Learn music theory as it applies to the modern electric and acoustic guitar. In this course, adapted from Guy Capuzzo's popular book, Theory for the Contemporary Guitarist, you can learn to read standard music notation, understand the major and minor scales, and identify intervals—the distance between two notes on your guitar. Instructor Tom Dempsey also introduces chord theory and alternate minor scales and modes. Plus, learn techniques for soloing over 12-bar blues progressions. These lessons are valuable for guitarists of all levels, as well as any musician who wants to boost their understanding of musical theory.
