Simple geometry can be placed into a motion-tracked scene to test the solve. If the objects don't slip, you can be sure the track is accurate. In this video, learn how to create and position objects in Cinema 4D to test the quality of the matchmove.
- With our camera solved and coordinate systems set we need to test our solution. So let's do that now. I'm going to create a cube. I'm just going to go over to here and click on the cube. And it is absolutely massive because we have set our scene scale. So I'm just going to make this something smaller. And if I press shift and click on x and then click on zed and just change this to 20 and then press command and hit enter it will change it down on all of those.
It's still a bit too big so I'm just going to key in five and do the same thing, command + enter. Okay, so that's a bit smaller a bit more manageable. And in my coordinates I'm going to change the Y to be 2.5 and now that should be sitting on top of our desk. If we come over to the side view, and just zoom in. And I'll just navigate in now and you can see that is on top of our desk. Okay, so we will now play through this scene.
And we can see now that that cube is nicely tracked on to the desk. Let's duplicate the cube and we'll move it to a different position. So I will hold down command and click and drag in the object manager. And I'll just drop that now. And I'm just going to be careful to just move this on the x and zed axis. I'm just going to jump to the end frame and line this up so on that grid.
It's really handy having the grid lined up in this way. So on that grid point and if I just play through now you can see that that is sticking really well. So to take this further we'd add a real object, light the scene, and render for compositing. So make sure you save this scene file as we'll be coming back to it in later chapters. And by placing simple geometry you can now be confident that we've achieved a successful match move. So congratulations you've completed the camera tracker workflow in CINEMA 4D.
