Take your flash photography to the next level

- As a photographer, you should already have an eye for light. But being able to recognize great light is a different skill from being able to create great light. When you've got the power to define light on your own terms, you can create mood, reinforce compositions, or simply make your images prettier. There are lots of tools for creating light, but strobes and flashes offer something that continuous lights don't, total control. With strobes and flashes, you can completely replace the ambient light in a scene with your own lighting design, giving you the freedom to create just about any type of lighting in any location. In this LinkedIn Learning course, we're going to dive deep into the behavior of light as we study falloff, light spread, modifiers, and flash exposure. Most importantly, though, through real-world shooting scenarios and studio examples, we're going to define a specific thought process that will help you puzzle out even the trickiest lighting problems. My name is Ben Long, and I love shooting with flashes and strobes. Come with me now to find out why and how.
