- We're really undergoing a technological transformation in the construction industry. When it comes to risks, the technology we adopt should help us manage risk, to reduce it or even avoid it where possible. Earlier in the course I discussed adopting digital processes to help with documentation and communication and I gave a specific example of adopting a digital workflow to reduce the risk of miscommunication of information obtained through our RFI or request for information process. I talk a lot about digital workflows and the use of digital drawings throughout many of my courses. However, when it comes to technology in construction, there are still many more ways to leverage technology while reducing risk. There are things that are here today and they're ready to use. I think one of the most versatile pieces of technology I can think of in use in the construction industry right now involves the use of lasers.
