- [Instructor] Are you ready to see how we drew this part? We managed to fully represent the part with one orthographic view, one section view, and one detail view. We also added a pictorial view for clarity, but this is optional. How did we arrive at this solution? Well, we actually started with the section view. Since there's this groove on the inside of the part, we know we need a section view to show it. You might have been tempted to take the section view from a side view of the part like this. While this is certainly an acceptable way to draw a section view, you'll notice that all the features that you would have dimensioned in the side view can also be dimensioned in the section view. So, it would be better to eliminate the side view and take the section view from the front view of the part, like this.
