Shooting the iconic street portrait in a city
- I was walking around looking for reflections, and I stumbled upon this really cool area with bricks. And I love old bricks, I love texture. And then I saw this gentleman with a Rat Terrier. I have a Jack Russell Terrier, so I love those dogs. And so I went to him and I talked about the dog, took a couple pictures of the dog, and then asked him if I could do a portrait of him and the dog. And really, in street photography, if you want to do street portraits, and a lot of people want to incorporate street portraits in their street photography. I mean, a lot of candid is great, but going the extra step and having interaction with your subject can be really rewarding and a lot of fun. So, people with dogs are the easiest subjects to start with. - [Valerie] Hi. Hey buddy! Are you out enjoying the nice weather? - [Man] Oh yeah.
