Selecting objects

- [Instructor] One of the oldest pieces of advice for using graphics applications is the phrase, "If you want to affect it, you must select it." Well, that's still true today and it's true in Inkscape. So let's take a look at how to select objects. The main tool for selecting objects is not surprisingly called the selector tool and it's the top tool here in the toolbox. You can also toggle between a tool and the selector by pressing the space bar. For example, if I have the selector tool and then switch to the rectangle tool and then draw out a rectangle, I can press the space bar to switch back to the selector and move the rectangle. Then press the space bar again to get back to the rectangle tool to modify this rectangle or draw a new one. And the same goes for the ellipse tool. If I click and drag to draw an ellipse, press space, I can move it around, press space again, and I can edit this or make another ellipse.…
