Get an overview of live Salesforce dashboards that are included with every account as samples and that can be used as customized dashboards.
- [Instructor] Most of us understand tech tools better when we see examples. Dashboards are best understood in the same way. Now there's a set of sample dashboards already installed in Salesforce when you sign up for a new account. Let's go see them. So we're starting from the home tab and then we'll go ahead and click on the app finder here. And then we'll click on Dashboards right here. On the left-hand side, we'll see Dashboards and then Dashboard folders. We'll click on All Dashboards. And we see here six pre-installed Dashboards covering a variety of needs for teams.
Now let's head over to the Salesforce AppExchange. I've got it right over here on this tab. To get to AppExchange, you'll type in appexchange.com which I already have pulled up on my screen. And then we'll type in Dashboards in the search box. Now if we use this pull-down menu, you'll notice that there's a pull-down menu here. There's also filters for Apps, Components, Consultants, Developers, and Jobs. We'll leave the default which is Apps and then we'll go ahead and search for dashboards. Now we'll go ahead and click on Free Apps here on the left-hand side filter.
And from here if we scroll down, we can see the most popular free apps that relate to Dashboards. The choices that have the laboratory flask icon are apps from Salesforce themselves. Let's go ahead and click on this one right here. You'll save huge amounts of time by using pre-made Dashboards offered by Salesforce. This one helps teams identify deficiencies in record data, and it's free. Let's go ahead and click on Get It Now to install it into our Salesforce account.
We can install it in Production or in Sandbox. Sandbox means we'll use it for testing purposes. But we want to install it into our actual production account so I'll click on that. You can see that I'm signed in and you can see my username here. I'll check here to acknowledge that I've read and I agree to the terms and conditions, and then we'll click confirm and install. So on this screen, let's go ahead and change this, that if there's a conflicting component we want to go ahead and rename the conflicting components. And then let's go ahead and install this for all users and then we'll click install.
And now the installation is complete. And we'll click Done. Now we can see the installed package right here in Salesforce. Let's head over to the App Finder and we'll go ahead and click on Dashboards. Then we'll click All Dashboards. And we can now see the additional new Dashboards that have been added to our account. And here are the sample dashboards. We'll see the four new dashboards that have been installed right here. Let's take a look at one of them. Now these dashboards can be used as is or we can use one as the mother of another dashboard.
With sample CRM dashboards in Salesforce, you'll be saving time and gaining key knowledge to improve your Salesforce aptitude.
