Rights and human dignity

- With both your in and out groups identified and consequences mapped to all of them, you'll often find yourself in the uncomfortable position of realizing your design cannot benefit everyone. In most cases some people or even some groups may have to be left out of the equation for a myriad of reasons. For example, if your product or service is expensive by necessity people without adequate funds cannot take advantage of it no matter how much you want to help them. That's just the reality of how our world works. Your job as an ethical designer is to figure out how to protect the rights and human dignity of all people who may interact with your designs, even when they cannot have direct access or influence on those designs. What do I mean by rights and human dignity?
