Establishing a sense of purpose isn't something you can do over night. It's not as simple as carving a mission statement into a block of granite and putting it outside of the company headquarters. So take your time, as it's a process that involves failures and learning from past mistakes. Even so, there are a few tips that can help you along the way. Repetition is integral to a shared sense of purpose. And repetition really does mean repetition. You should be blue in the face once you're done extolling your company's core convictions. Because we know what we mean when we say something, we often assume that our priorities have been communicated to others, but they're often about as clear as mud.
