- We've roughed out and isolated our best thumbnail sketches. We're now going to re-approach each of those sketches, redraw them, and refine them more precisely. Our refined sketch is going to act as a roadmap for vector building. It's going to improve our design. This is a critical stage and you don't want to skip it, but this is best shown than explained, so let's dive into it. When it comes to refined drawing, we're going to take our thumbnail sketches like this, which most of them we drew with the pen, these are imprecise. You wouldn't want to scan this in and try to build from it. You'd be making too many guess works, specifically on the bird shape itself, the eagle, matter of fact, this doesn't look like an eagle, so that's one argument to refine it.
