Recommending content is a great way to increase learner engagement and deliver the appropriate content to your users. In this video, learn how to find and recommend courses.
- [Instructor] One of the best ways to help increase learner engagement is to recommend content. There are several different ways that you can do this, but let's take a look at one of the most straightforward. And that is to recommend a relevant course. First, let's take a look at how to find relevant content. To do this, I'm going to navigate up to the content tab, and then select featured. This is a powerful page. Here you can determine what language you want the content to be in. And then you can click on browse to access the over 10,000 courses available in this library. Now, here it breaks it down by library. We have the business library with each of its subgroups. The creative library, and the technology libraries. So I'll click off of this. Another way to find content is by the recommendations per job title. Here you can see business analyst is the one selected now, but from this drop down I can select a number of different job titles. Say, for instance, here I'll select salesperson. It will then recommend courses relevant to salespeople. If I for instance, wanted to share the Selling With Authenticity course, I can do that by clicking on the three dots icon down at the bottom. From here I can get a sharable link that I can share with people. But I think the best way is to recommend it directly to learners and groups. I'll go ahead and click on that. And from within here, I can recommend this to whoever I want. If I want to recommend it to all users on the platform, I would simply click here. In this case I don't want to do that, though. I want to recommend this to Allen Marcos. So I'll find his name and select him there. You can see down below that now this will be sent to him. And I'm also going to share it with a group. So I want to share it with the entire sales group. So I can also do that. And you'll see that appear here. Down below you can enter in a message explaining why you're recommending this content. And that is something that I think you should do. So let the people know why you're recommending it, why you think it's important, what you hope they get out of it. Below that you can add a due date, which is optional. But it might be a situation where you want people to watch something before a particular meeting. If that's the case, you might want to set a due date, so people know when to complete it by. We have everything set. You can click on send. And it will send those recommendations to the people or groups that you selected. Now, another way to find relevant content is to use the search bar up at the top. Up here I'm going to type in remote, and hit enter. And then on the left we have the ability to filter these results. We can do that by courses, videos, learning paths. In this case I only want to see courses. We can also choose by the level. Whether or not we have custom tags. And whether or not you want to find courses with continuing education units. Now, on the right-hand side I can see these courses. And the one that I want to recommend here is Working Remotely. In this situation I'll go over to the right-hand side, and the arrow icon allows you to recommend it. I'll click on that. Recommend to learners and groups. And then in here I'm going to share that with the remote workers group. Normally I would enter an explanation of why I think they should watch this course. And then I'll click on send. So take advantage of recommending content. Find content that you think people would appreciate, and then recommend it directly to them. This is a great way to increase the engagement that your users will have with the content.
